It's possible that if you use Chrome or Firefox that you may have received a security warning that OQCGP is not safe. Please be aware that OQCGP does not contain any malicious code or malware, however we had a link to another website that was recently hacked. Because our forum included a link to this website we got flagged by the Google Safe Browsing system.

I strongly urge all forum users to use caution when clicking on any link that takes you away from this website as we cannot guarantee it's safety. Most importantly, always keep your virus scanner up to date, and install the latest security patches for your operating system and web browser.

Posted by: The Grinch » Fri Dec 03, 2010 9:29 am Forum: News

Backing up the last reports from a few months back, General Motors appears ready to bring back the only truly exciting product Pontiac had to offer, the G8. Now with Pontiac dead the car will be badged as a Chevy (likely wearing the Caprice name), but the important part is that it will be based on the rear-drive Holden Commodore platform, just like the G8 was.

The latest rumor comes from the LA Auto Show, where a senior engineer told an Australian outlet that the plan to bring back the rear-drive V8-powered sedan was under consideration for the retail market. It should be noted that currently GM offers the long wheelbase Holden Commodore-based Chevy Caprice as a Police-only vehicle in the U.S.

An unnamed source then reportedly commented that the car has been approved by GM’s product planning folks.

With the platform already sold here in the past, federalizing the car wouldn’t be difficult either. Now wouldn’t a V8-powered 6-speed manual Chevy Caprice performance sedan be just the perfect car for the upcoming Detroit Auto Show?

This always a great event and is held annually at one of the GM Plants in St. Catharines where you will have the opportunity to see many different GM vehicles old and new. As an added bonus you will get to tour the engine plant!

Last year we took away two awards: One for largest showing of any car club at the event and one of our members won the award for furthest distance traveled to the show.

All members from all areas are invited to come out to this event and share in the fun and good times that are always OQCGP meets!! Let's take the award for largest showing again this year!!

Hope to see you all there! B)
